About the Team

Tara Liaschenko
Just 10 years ago, Tara Liaschenko, CEO of The Link Event Professionals, Inc., began her career in San Francisco, California as a freelance producer/director of fashion shows. Later that year [1996] she moved to Atlanta, Georgia to be the National Education Manager for hair product manufacturer Nioxin Research Laboratories. There, she produced more than 360 events per year. After four rigorous years, Liaschenko accepted her next challenge as the Director of On-Air Image/Product Knowledge for Home Shopping Network (HSN). She moved to St. Pete, Florida to develop and monitor on air appearance/image, revamp model and fashion coordinator department to be more cost efficient, improve visual delivery, and develop show host training program to increase sales. In an effort to support the event industry, she launched PlanIt Event Resource Guide, Inc. to help event planners find resources. Her love of events, combined with the years of planning experience led her to start her own independent event planning and management company, and in 2003, The Link Event Professionals, Inc., was born. Jan Weldon
After deciding that a career in medicine was not her ultimate calling, pre-med/bio-chemistry major Jan Weldon, CFO of the Link Event Professionals, Inc., spent the first eight years of her professional career as a financial advisor in Atlanta, Georgia. Changing gears, Weldon left the financial world to go to cosmetology school, where she studied to become a hairdresser. With years in the hair industry under her belt, it was a natural progression for Weldon to take a position as a district education manager, selling products and educating distributors, at Nioxin Research Laboratories—which is where she met her future partner, Liaschenko. “We met in California,” says Weldon. “I was considering three Regional Sales Manager positions at the company and after meeting Tara I chose the South East territory and moved back to Atlanta in 1996.” Weldon continued working at Nioxin until March 2001. She then took a year off and assisted Liaschenko with events. In October 2004, Weldon officially joined The Link full-time where she continues to drive sales and create events.
